Update statement on Zoe Ireland Drake

Jenny and Gavin Drake, Nashville, Tennessee, with baby Zoe, and their son, Aiden, and Jenny's father, David Bowers at The Rotunda Hospital, Dublin

Dublin, Ireland - Jenny and Gavin Drake today, 23 December 2015, gave an update on the progress of their baby daughter, Zoe Ireland Drake, who was born at The Rotunda Hospital, Dublin in late October at just 25 weeks old after Jenny went into labour in mid-air and their plane had to be diverted back to Dublin en route from Paris to Chicago.   Zoe has been under the care of the Neonatology Unit at the Hospital for the last number of weeks.

Jenny Drake said she was delighted with the progress that Zoe had made and was now weighing almost 5 pounds and in good health; she no longer requires oxygen and is taking her feeds very well.

Jenny, Gavin and Zoe have since been joined by their young son, Aiden (3) who came over with Jenny's father, David Bowers, and they will be staying in Dublin for the Christmas period and the New Year.  They hope to be able to fly back to their home in Nashville, Tennessee, in early January.

The Rotunda Hospital have agreed to manage media queries for the Drake family for the time being.   Any media queries or picture requests should be directed to Dermot McCrum, Strand Communications, acting on behalf of the Hospital.
