Quality Improvement Plan for Compliance with the National Standards for the Prevention and Control of Healthcare Associated Infections
The Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) undertook an unannounced monitoring assessment in the Rotunda Hospital for the National Standards for the Prevention and Control of Healthcare Associated Infections on May 15th 2013. The report on the inspection was launched on June 21st and states that the clinical areas assessed were generally clean. However, a number of opportunities for improvement were identified.
The Rotunda Quality Improvement Plan 2013 has been developed by key stakeholders. It prioritises the improvements necessary to comply with the National Standards. The Master and the Chairman of the Governance/Audit Committee have reviewed and approved the plan.
Ensuring that our wards and all parts of the hospital are kept clean is vital to preventing the spread of infections and is something we take very seriously. Progress with implementing this plan will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
